Well… It’s been a hot minute again.
I wish I could say that I continued my weekly plan of updating my blog once a week, but it’s been over two months since I posted last. 2018 will be my year – I can feel it already!
The last couple of weeks have been so busy with our line of work, plus Christmas, and also a small vacation, and boom – we’re just over two weeks away from Christmas.
The day after Thanksgiving our family + Grandma + Aunt Emma, all jumped on a plane (Spirit Airlines – anxious to hear anyone’s thoughts on this particular airline) and headed to Clearwater Beach, FL, where we spent four days sitting by the pool, walking the beach, and playing card games.
Have you ever had one of those vacations where you just felt cured by the weather? Well, this was one of those. The weather was beautiful and the sun shined every day. It was a much needed change from the weather in Pennsylvania and came at such a great time.
We drove to BWI, which is about an hour and half away from our home. I got the honor of sitting in the trunk of our SUV with the luggage. My legs fell asleep for the majority of the time, but we saved on parking! When it comes to airport parking, we will do anything to save some cash. It’s ridiculous how much it costs to keep your car in a parking garage or parking lot for a few days!!
When we arrived, we took an Uber to the hotel, and dropped of the kiddos, grandma, and Auntie Em. Josh and I took a car ride to the local grocery store to pick up food for the week and also a bathing suit, because in true ME fashion, that’s the one thing I forgot to pack. Whoops!
The next few days we spent soaking up the sun and having fun…
My daughter has the coolest grandma around!
Josh and I were able to sneak off for a couple of dinner dates, which was greatly appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed!
Our first date was to Bern’s Steakhouse in Tampa. I highly suggest! We try and stop there each time we visit the Tampa area.
It creepily reminds me of the Adams Family and I always imagine that it’s what the inside of their vacation home would look like. Its has bizarrely decorated rooms and hallways.
It was there that we found a bottle of wine for $18 that we actually really enjoyed. Cheers for cheap wine that tastes good!!
Our other date was to The Island Way Grill in Clearwater.
We had some amazing seafood and drinks and were so happy to have an unexpected night out. Thanks Mom and Emma!!
We also were able to reconnect with our wedding photographer, who we absolutely adore and were able to catch some gorgeous shots with our kiddos at sunset.
I am totally in love with the last one. Sandy butts and busy playing under the hammock. Clearly, they were finished with photo taking, buttttt we squeezed just a couple more in.
Now off to try and narrow some of these shots down to order our Christmas cards in time for Christmas! Last year, I believe we got them sent out before the turn of The New Year. I tend to focus on the fact that we got them out to folks, instead of not having any at all. I hope all is going well for you all!
