Wow. Just wow. I have to start out with a huge thank you to those who were able to attend our party and those who also showered our kiddos with happy birthdays.
Over the last two weeks, we have been so blessed with family and friends wishing our children well on their birthdays. It’s such a wonderful reminder that they are so loved and cared for! A special thank you again to everyone who shared a warm wish for our babies! We appreciate you so much!
Lilly’s first birthday party was a whale themed event and after many hours of deciding if we should keep the same theme (boring? Or genious?) we decided to branch out a bit and do a sailing theme… I know what you’re going to say – that’s not branching out. But as my husband and I are squares, it was a pretty big leap for us!
And as Jack is our second child, we were so NOT prepared for his birthday.
Basically, it sums up to this.
While on vacation, we remembered that Jack’s birthday was soon so what did we do?
… instead of fancy invites, we made a Facebook group.
Older Jack, if you’re reading this someday, you’ll understand when you have kids and you’ll (hopefully) think this was a genious idea!
We are so fortunate for a wonderful bakery and crafty moms for helping us pull everything together.
On a side note, Lilly wanted a Paw Patrol birthday. Super great idea, if the party wasn’t sail boat themed.
Thankfully, grandma decorated a cake just for Lil and she had her wish come true.
Aren’t grandmas the best?
We sang happy birthday awkwardly – because who’s name comes first when you’re singing for two?
And as we end the turn of another year with our kids, I am feeling so overjoyed and blessed that our kids have such wonderful people in their lives who give so much to us and to them.
Happy Birthday Jack and Lilly. You make the world keep turning for your momma and poppa.
